Chess – Inter School Tournament, Kryal Castle Chess Shield
On Friday 23rd August, ten students (six secondary and four primary) were selected to represent our school in the Kryal Castle Chess Shield. This event was organised by Northern Star Chess and is part of the qualifying round for the Victorian Schools State Finals Series to be held in Term 4.
Secondary students: Johar Malik (9B), Mohammad Ghafari (9B), Mehmet Recai Kara (8B), Md Warith Chowdhury (7B), Albaraa Naseraldin (7B), Rumaysa Salman (7A)
Primary students: Aydin Dervish (6B), Aurnia Chowdhury (5A), Ismael Naseraldin (2A), Aidin Husanovic (2B)
It was a great tournament and our students did exceptionally well. At the end of the tournament, the six students listed below either qualified for the State finals, or won medals.
